EDUCATIONAL NIL COURSEWARE

Welcome to “Name, Image & Likeness: Personal Branding Strategies for Student-athletes” by Dr. Maribeth Kuzmeski, marketing professor and creator of The Brand Squad at the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. The “Name, Image & Likeness” courseware presents actionable insights into NIL concepts and introduces student-athletes to the world of personal branding through a rich set of resources, including an up-to-date text, lesson plans, quizzes, and assignment suggestions. 

Instructors can bundle this courseware with the “Mimic Name, Image & Likeness” simulation, which takes students through the process of getting a sponsorship, analyzing opportunities, and promoting the brand they have partnered with by applying real-life strategies outlined in the text.

“Name, Image & Likeness” includes several courseware resources with suggestions for use.

This course dives into the marketing and business concepts necessary for elevating a personal brand, amplifying social media influence, and boosting entrepreneurial earning power. Students will gain knowledge of marketing theory, strategy, and tactics of successful branding, with emphasis on engaging an audience, generating followers, storytelling, and leveraging their position through successful pitch strategies.

There is a detailed lesson plan for each chapter of the courseware. Assignments and in-class activity suggestions are included.

There are two sets of slide presentations for each chapter: an instructor version and a student version. The versions are the same except for instructional notes included in the instructor version.

Each chapter has an accompanying quiz consisting of multiple-choice and true-or-false questions. These quizzes are administered and automatically graded in Edify. Instructors have access to slide presentations that display the correct answers for corresponding quizzes.
